Your allowance is the raw, uncompressed data inside your retention window — sampled daily, billed at the p95 over the cycle. Metrics and RUM are metered separately and don't draw from this pool.

No. The Developer plan starts with a 180-day free trial — sign up with your work email, no card required, and nothing is charged at signup. Team and Pro are billed from day one.
On day 180, not before. Adding a card early only removes the deadline — you keep every remaining free day, and your first charge lands on the day the trial would have ended.
We bill the data we're holding for you, not the data you send. Your allowance is measured in raw, uncompressed bytes inside your retention window, so 50 GB stored at 15-day retention works out to roughly 100 GB of monthly ingest. You can predict the number from your side of the wire, without knowing anything about our compression or index overhead.
You get an email at 80% and again at 100%. At a hard cap, new ingest pauses but everything already stored stays queryable and your dashboards stay live.
